BMW i3s
I would agree that Tesla have the best EV and infrastructure offer out there. I just find the design look and finish so “Meh”

One of these had been on my radar when they were first announced for the dog too. Quite shocked when I went to a tesla dealer when I was in LA (before they were here) to see it was a notchback!

Model Y is a maybe yet but the costs are going to put it into my “good” car category where a electric Tesla SUV may not bring a lot of excitement.
Still think my £30k ish limit is about right for me for the day to day second car and it being electric. That said I love my old Mini Countryman and think it still looks great for a whole lot less than the £30k budget so might just be wise and stick with it. But of course the temptation of a new or nearly new car with up to date technology and drive is strong.

I suspect the Model Y may surprise you in that regard. The Model 3 has pin sharp handling and more power than you could ever wish for (up to 580 hp now). It actually reminds me of a Cayman looking out from the driver’s seat, but with far more punch. It’s not a car you would want to be trying to follow down a favourite B road.
I don’t think the Y will lose much of that character based on the same platform. It will be interesting to see how the EV Macan compares if it gets released next year. But I’m fully expecting to replace my Model X with a Y as it stands.

Thanks (in part) to this thread, I’ve just bought an i3s impulsively.
My first EV, will report back after I’ve had a chance to live with it.

I think this is about where UK variants will start. But Tesla have just announced a lower cost “budget” version, so hard to predict.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Tue Jan 12, 2021 10:54 am ...or £45,000...?!?

Current Model 3 starts at around £40k in the UK, but there are cheaper base specs available in some regions. Model Y will be a little more expensive.
