Know what you mean. I always park far away and that helps as most people don't want to walk too far.Rab J wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 9:21 pmThat would be my kind of supermarket car park, lots of room untill you come back and some old dear has parked her bashed up Fiesta badly right next to you, Que five minutes studying the side to make sure no dents
Finally found the right 911 for me

Out of curiosity, why did you prefer the .2 over the .1?Hitman999 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 5:55 pmThanks. I drove the 991.1 and 991.2 and preferred the 991.2. The car has been fantastic. It's got plenty of poke .smithy37 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 9:30 am Lovely car.
A lot of purists will argue the normally aspirated 991.1 is the one to own but I disagree. The turbo charged models are brilliant in my opinion (yes I am biased) and the PCM 4.0 & carplay are worth it IMO too.
Plus, should you ever feel you need a bit more poke, then for around £720 Litchfield can give you nearly 500hp. Don’t be frightened about insurance costs spiralling neither. Didn’t cause me any problems.
Both myself & WingCo will vouch for them.

I felt it was better overall for me as it is my daily driver. The low end torque is a lot more usable, the upgrade to the PCM, steering wheel, rear wheel steering option and all the other tweaks just made it feel better to me. I would say the 991.1 sounds better but I got to say the 991.2 sounds surprisingly good too. It's a personal choice you have to drive both and decide for yourself.AndyC160 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 07, 2021 11:29 pmOut of curiosity, why did you prefer the .2 over the .1?Hitman999 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 5:55 pmThanks. Thanks...interesting. I need to have a go in a 991.1. I think it's only the sound that appeals to me more in the .1 . Agree that the steering wheel is better in the .2 as it just works so well (I think it's the same one in the Macan?) Why have they stopped putting the roller balls for the volume and MFD at the perfect angle for your thumb in the newer models 992, Taycan etc where its horizontal? Also agree with you about the PCM.Hitman999 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 8:57 amI felt it was better overall for me as it is my daily driver. I've seen a few cases on the 991.1 where the door sills are getting full of water as the drainage holes arent doing what they should be doing...Porsche dont seem to be too good at that part of car design. Potential rust issues? I wonder if the problem has been sorted on the .2? But then I also saw a 991.2 with a reasonable mileage needing new turbos because of corrosion...an issue since the 996 turbo!
When I do change the Macan it will probably be for a .2 as it's a newer car...just need to have a go in a .1 though which may swing things.

My advice would be to drive both and get a feel for each. Take your time and go for a decent drive on country roads, motorway and town driving. Think about what's important for you. There is no right or wrong answer as both cars are great! I just can't stop smiling when I drive mine .AndyC160 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 9:04 pmThanks...interesting. I need to have a go in a 991.1. It’s a long time since I’ve driven a 991.1 and yes it probably did sound nice when you wrung it out to the red line but the later turbos don’t sound too bad and have the low down above too which makes life a little more relaxed

Hehe, don't blame you. They do look in black too, just so much more work to keep tidy.
