Depends on use. Weekend only then manual. Everyday pdk.
Yup, same here.

Although, do you think a manual would hold better money down the line? (if you were thinking about residuals)
Interesting question

My mate just got a spec changeable cancelled order on a gt4

He wanted a manual because his other cars (including a 991.2RS, a Performante etc are of course auto so he wanted something different for the weekend hence manual. However because the pdk is a late addition to the model range he has gone for that because he thinks it will hold money better as there will be fewer around.

It is a strange one. PDK is obviously quicker, but the purists want driving engagement from what you read.
I'd still go with what you said above, manual for weekend toy, PDK every day driving.

Time will tell on pricing, it'd have to be parked up 95% of the time to make money. I'd say get it, and drive it like you stole it and post plenty of pictures .

Its an interesting dilemma but we're going PDK as that's what we're used to and of course its faster than the manual and a manual GT4/Spyder :)

As mentioned above its being bought to be used so while we have an interest in preserving value that won't be at the expense of enjoying it and hopefully many road trips across Europe will be had in the process.

I've had two PDK Porsches now, a Macan GTS and a 991.2 GTS, and great as the PDK was in both I would go manual in the Boxster 25 or Spider

Yes I understand there was no manual option the Macan, just using it as an example of how much I like PDK and would still go manual in a purely fun car.

I had a loaner 718 a few weeks ago. It sounded really rough on cold start, not a nice noise at all. But top-down (I was brave it was 3C) and it all felt so much better. Really enjoyed it.

^^^ Almost certainly a 4-cylinder, rather than the smoother 6-cylinder as seen in the GT4, Spyder, 4.0 GTS and the 25th Anniversary. :)
