Same with the Macan. My original spec had the clear tail lights but ultimately it was one of the many ( many ) things I changed.

I agree with MCDK that the ‘red’ rear lights look better than the colourless ones, but hey, it’s good to have the choice! ;)

I think your Aston looked better with ‘red’ rear lights too. :)

Right Lads, have a 110 defender out for 24 hrs, D300 X - black fully loaded and drives very well even on the 22’s. This really has surprised me how much I like it, it’s top of the list - don’t want to go crazy money (cross Turismo or RS6), possibly an order in the new year.

Mint Macan GTS possibly for sale. 992 staying forever though 👌
2016 Macan GTS - Volcano Grey and a few extras (SOLD)
2020 992s - Crayon and a few extra, extras
2022 Land Rover Defender 110 D300 HSE X-Dynamic Black, 7 seats and a load of extras

Yes, I was surprised too how well these things behave on the road. Good luck with your purchase, but as I’m sure you know, you could be faced with a long wait.

As above the reports of long waits would mean an order now might not turn up until this time next year and even then it may be missing components depending on supply issues.

Yeah, could be a wait indeed, might get on the list - Mrs isn’t too keen though. In better news, seems she knows the top guy from JLR Belfast.

But to confuse matters - was in the Macan a lot today, still as sweet as the day I bought it.

Big mistake there, its such a surprise to drive that you have no option but buy one. Buy it in Dungannon, so much nicer people to deal with with than the Botcher road mob lol

I'll not try to tell my granny how to suck eggs, I'm sure you've lots of experience buying cars, but to me after sales is the biggest influence on where I buy a car. The sales guy in Boucher was very nice, sorted a test drive when maybe he shouldn't have, but then just never got back to me. Also a small incident I noticed with their new demonstrator made me wonder if the workshop had progressed at all from the poor service I received twenty years ago when I owned some of the early Discoverys. In those days I moved to buying from Dungannon and found the after sales people very helpful and expert at sorting issues. I must say the prep on this new Defender couldn't be faulted. To cap it all got a decent deal which was the icing on the cake.

Its the whole experience for me. Several companies I contacted whilst looking for a new car just never got back to me after the initial chat ( like Volvo, which surprised me ). So they instantly lost my business. If people don't want my money I’m not going to chase them to take it.

When I had a BMW, the service guy always knew exactly who I was when I walked into the dealership ( no Neil, not for the reasons you think ) and when i had a drive shaft failure at 99,000 miles on my 335 they gave me a brand new 5 series as a loaner whilst they fixed it. Due to a delay in getting parts from Germany they let me keep the 5 series for 2 weeks and then sent me a bottle of champagne and a box of chocolates with a note apologising for the delay! On top of all this they didn’t charge me a penny for anything. They covered it all under warranty, on a car with 99,000 miles on the clock!! That all said the next car I bought was from Stratstone Aston Martin Western Avenue in London (ish) and the experience was a lot less satisfying.

If anybody gets that level of good service from an OPC let me know, I'll travel a long way for that.
I just couldn't believe "my" SE always saying "call me...." never "I'll call you" :x It's not changed either I recently asked about a test drive in a drop top, "remind me in mid August we're registering a new 718 Cayman" I did, by email, no response!

Ex.: Gen2 S, Volcano grey 1/9/19 - 3/2/23 & 39,235 Smiles, RIP
