Really, that is illogical.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Mon Jun 14, 2021 12:31 pm Porsche just came back to me.
Savings if I get 4-year service, plus replace all spark plugs, at same time = £0.00

^^^ I know! I responded along the lines of: I was thinking that there would be some saving of time/labour/money by doing the 4-year service, plus changing the spark plugs, all at the same time. Evidently not...
Will be sorely tempted to get a quote for changing spark plugs from an Indy when my car reaches 40k miles or 4 years.
Am pretty bl00dy sure they won’t charge anything like £486.72!
Cheers,

A few weeks ago my 911 had 12 Year Major Service, Spark Plugs, Drive Belt, Brake Fluid and PDK transmission and clutch oils.
I considered Indy options, but best was £200 cheaper, so decided to stick with OPC for this one. Was c.£1,570, which included discount for being more than 4 years old!
As a plus, no amber or reds on the inspection; and some complimentary comments from the Technician

Sounds very reasonable for me for a dedicated sports car as opposed to an Audi Q5 in a posh frock !
Incidentally on the Indy vs OPC thing - I told my after sales manager at my OPC that I bought the 928 and told him I would be using the independent literally half way between me and them (10 miles vs 20!) and he came back and said he would match their rates for servicing etc !
No harm in having a OPC stamp in the service book is there although there is of course an argument that the Indy might look after it better !

As a precaution, I got a quote from OPC for a water pump replacement, should it be required... . It came out at nearly £2,500. A got a quote from an established Porsche indy garage, using genuine Porsche parts = about half of the OPC quote!

I will do that, if the water pump needs replacing, but I won’t hold my breath!
