That's pretty much the same price as a major service on a Macan - makes sense as most of it is labour at the same rate.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 5:35 pm Continuing the theme of “Porsche Tax” and servicing costs etc.
Just booked my 991.2 Carrera T in for its ‘major’ service.
It had its first one after less than 16 months, having covered 20k miles. Miles are now at 33k, but it’s two years (next month) after the first/minor service.
Booked it in at Swindon. Price quoted is £790.09.
I declined the air conditioning service.
The above price excludes new spark plugs, as they’re not due until 40k miles or 4 years, whichever comes first. That’ll be a further £486.72
Am not complaining as such, as I’m well aware that a 911 is not a cheap car to run
Just wanted a sense check, especially from other 911 owners on here, to see if the above prices are in line with your expectations.
Cheers,
Would be double that if you're due plugs and PDK oil change - same as Macan.

On-Track wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 9:55 am In July 2019, the major service on my SD came in at roughly £1,400. That included brake fluid change and air con recharge. If I recall correctly, the actual service was £950.
Without digging out the invoice, things are a bit vague because the car was having AdBlue troubles at the time and the overall invoice charge included replacing the sensor and feed pipe.
Compared with that, the £790 you've been quoted is not bad.
Thanks, Peter. If I add spark plugs & brake fluid, mine would be about £1,400 too, although I’m declining the air con service. Not too bad then, for a 911, I guess...
Cheers,
Simon

They said that the job took less time than anticipated.
Quote:
1. Major Service
2. Brake Fluid
3. Add. work every 60,000 km/ 4 year = Spark Plugs, Drive Belt Check.
Thanks, Semerka!
If I read that correctly, it was £968.80 for the 4-year major service, £129.29 for brake fluid change and ‘only’ £174.78 for the spark plugs?
If so, my quote of £486.72 for spark plugs looks somewhat pricey?!
Cheers,
Simon

I presume a separate visit for just the spark plugs change will be more expensive, because they need to take all the stuff off and on in the engine bay.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 7:54 pmThanks, Semerka!Semerka wrote: ↑Fri Jun 11, 2021 12:56 pm My ex-love, Ruby (2016 Carrera S), had her major 4-year service at mere 10,997 miles at the end of June 2020. On my invoice that £539.55 charge is the overall Inspection / Major Service / labour for all items, then the cost of each item is listed.
Plus of course 20% VAT on top of everything.
Perhaps ask them for a quote including the spark plugs change, to compare.

^^^. Thanks! I presumed that the £47.85 was the labour for the spark plugs and £79.20 was the labour for the brake fluid.
Yes, I’ll ask for a combined price of 4-year service, plus spark plugs!

Hi Simon, it seems that your quote is pretty cheap. I was quoted £900 for a minor service, brake fluid change and MOT on my 997 Turbo. Around 40% more expensive than my last minor 4 years ago. My salary hasn’t gone up by the same % in that time

Porsche just came back to me.
Savings if I get 4-year service, plus replace all spark plugs, at same time = £0.00
