Here is my final spec of the new 718 Caveman GTS 4.0. Thoughts?

http://www.porsche-code.com/PNAK7NI0

For context, I got some very good insight from the fellow-members of this forum — many thanks — which gave me an excellent semi-final spec. Then I had an opportunity to drive both PDK and Manual Transmission derivatives at the PEC Silverstone, today!

My lizard-brain was screaming “MANUAL” and my frontal cortex whispered, don’t be an a$$, get a “PDK”. My frontal cortex won, as I want my wife to ride and enjoy it as well, and she is decidedly not in favour of my manual Boxster.

Also, driving on the skid-circles and (let’s call it) the lateral-butt-kicker, it was clear that I was able to control the car with PDK more effectively than the M/T. In fact, I was able to control the car on the lateral-butt-kicker even with all the electronic witchcraft (a.k.a. stability control) OFF, which won the final round of arguments.

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Looks great! :D

I’d still go for silver wheels, though. ;)

Thanks @Wing Commander. Silver wheels are nice… Platinum are great. Now, if I could have a matching side-air-intakes, that would be epic!

The PEC had a Boxster 25 on the floor… what a beautifully balanced vehicle. That gave me the idea of matching air-scoops.

The PDK is such a clever transmission. It’s hard to walk away from it.

The interesting thing is that in my (ex) Macan S gen 2, when PDK was in manual mode, the next gear was gear-lever forward. To select the next gear in the 718 GTS, one pulls the gear-lever back, just like in my old BMW 435i (2015 MY). I thought that shift forward made more sense, but it’s easy to get used to it.

Caveman GTS 4.0 , did you have to run this speck past Wilma? I see you didn’t manage to get animal skin upholstery though😂

No? I though I had a leather bound dashboard.

@Toddie, what option did I miss? I don’t see leopard-skin upholstery on the confuserator 👀

I had that issue when BMW swopped the movement between E39 and E91 series. took me a few months!!

I do think that with that the external colour means natural leather would be the perfect interior

Perhaps. Also, if I recall correctly, Flinstones had a convertible, or targa top 😜
