Saw the first one on the road today.

I was waiting to come out of a T junction and it went past, as first glance I thought it was a Hearst, it went on forever.

A couple of cars behind it I could get a reasonable view of its back end, OMG is that thing dire, so many horizontal folds and curves it looks like it was given a rear end shunt.

Not impressed at all.

Mind you the cr4p choice of Coffee Beige Metalic as the colour did it no favours.

I really liked it on an extended test drive and spec’d one up ready to order but wife was against another low slung car so we ended up with a Defender, which I also really like. But I wasn’t impressed with the public charging network.

Given the issues with Taycans at the moment, and the cost of electricity, maybe it’s just as well we didn’t buy it.

Think no matter what the electric costs are it will be a lot cheaper to run than a V8 Defender. At less than £12 for an overnight home charge that gives over 200 miles it’s not dear to run at all. And that is with the April electric price rises factored in, used to be £4 for the same charge!

I too have grave reservations about running an EV, especially as a sole car.

Col, we disagree, again. I think it’s a stunner.

I really like the Taycan Sport Turismo, but not ready for an EV.

If it had a Macan GTS engine and a decent sticker price, I’d be all over that.

2023 Macan GTS
2018 BMW M6 GC
2023 Boxster GTS

Yes I agree, but that wasn’t the main issue in our decision at the time. But for EV owners who have to use the public charging network now the cost of juice is equivalent to, or more than, petrol. This is often quoted in the media as a reason for the slowdown in EV sales.
