Porsche Macan Extras

Whilst cleaning the interior of my wife's Tekna+ Nissan Juke this afternoon I compared it's standard spec to a standard Macan S and how much Porsche charge for these as "Extras"

Heated Windscreen - £333.00
Surround Camera - £575.00
Privacy Glass - £366.00
Auto Dim Mirrors -£278.00
Lane keeping assist - £453.00
Adaptive Cruise control - £666.00
Speed Limit Indicator - £204.00

Or they could increase the base price by £5k and then they'd be free

Basic price, 1970’s inclusive spec ie 4 wheels an engine and drive system, body and lights.

Everything thing else is paid for option.

That way the newbies who do not know better buy into the marque then Porsche have their claws in them and they go on from model to model.

At least since the Macan was first introduced some items that were an extra is now a standard fitment.

And It's only got a 998cc engine about 114 bhp and 0-60 in 10.4 sec , no comparison really , but my wife loves it. Mind you she hasn't driven the Macan yet,

Takes me back to my first new car - 1974 Escort Mk1 Sport. Added extras were push button radio and cloth seats , worked for Ford MC so after employee discount the OTR inc road tax was £978.64 , just £61.00 more than the Bose system on my Macan.

I only specced one of these options on my T, so the Porsche approach works for me. I’d rather choose my options, than have all that stuff added & pay a much higher basic price for the car.
