I am amazed that people haven’t yet been speculating that an EV started the fire, but it looks like it was a diesel. ICE cars - dangerous things. Should be banned!

Could have been arson, or a fag end in a pile of rubbish etc etc
Speculation will always spin to fit the narrative of those speculating I think. 🤔

Latest news is there were a number of electric vehicles involved which explains the explosions taking place as each vehicle caught alight. The cars were parked close to each other also.

I think you may find in the Taycan price thread that the speculation the fire was caused by an EV started perhaps even before the fire started 😀

No need to let the truth spoil a band wagon 😂

And I would imagine a few petrol cars parked close to each other in there could also have caused a reasonably big bang

Are there any diesel hybrids? :)

The BBC says that, so it must be the truth. Yeah right.

Yes I think so. Many new diesels are mild hybrids which still have batteries and a few are full PHEV’s so just as potentially culpable.

I'm just in the process of booking somewhere at Heathrow T5 for 10 days next April. Thinking their Long Stay T5 looks tempting. It's outdoor :D, keep the keys :D, shuttle bus :( .... with luck I can avoid parking close to any EVs!
Suggestions of better options welcome...
