Scary.
Am I the only one that sees the expansion of the available infotainment systems inherently dangerous.
It is not as though driving today is a relaxed affair, far from it with all the numpties on the road one needs 110% concentration and no distractions inside the car when mobile.
All one needs is Music and a system to get you from A to B with the least aggrivation.
Infotainment is already taken car of with the kids in the rear seats and their mobile devices.

100% agree. The less distractions the better! And a regular driving test requirement, rather than once in a lifetime would go a long way.
Too much time on my hands and thought post title actually indicated!!!!!!!

Scary that wanting simple dials, buttons, and a simple entertainment system, makes you a dinosaur these days.Col Lamb wrote: ↑Fri Dec 22, 2023 3:30 pm Scary.

Anything is better than Cariad developing software for VAG. Cowboys would of done a better job!

To be fair to Cariad, they only had 6000 developers, engineers and designers!

I find CarPlay useful but still immature technology, eg. at times I like to use Waze app as it has additional warnings in foreign territories. I can make it work only with USB port cable, not via Bluetooth :/

I'm a career techie and agree totally with you Col. Far too many distractions in current infotainment systems.
I must say I like the new passenger touchscreens that Porsche are putting into the options list. It makes sense to push some work onto the passenger if you have one.
