The "oil measurement" display shows an electronic dipstick that moves in quarters. I needed 2 separate top-ups of a litre each by 9,000 miles. Mines a turbo.

Yours is a Porsche engine. The same engine in my Cayenne is still showing full at 3000 miles.

I think the electronic dipstick is designed to show a "level" rather than just empty or needing oil.
My diesel has just done 2000 miles an shows thus:
To my mind, with the green line not quite going to the top anymore, this suggests I have used a bit but not much - as I would I expectSmile

Thanks all. I've added about 3/4 litre of liquid gold to the lump under the bonnet and again, now that I'm paying attention can see that it is indeed showing a level. Now that I'm clued up as to the way it reports back, I'll monitor further usage. Still, even at 1litre/6000 miles it's not as bad as the 2.0 16v VW I had some years back!
Cheers

Thanks for that Mr. Toad, I just assumed that the Macan would be all metric. I use about the same per 15,000 with my Freelander.Wink

Ha. I think that's why the Porsche technician told me that I should put less than a litre in. When I look up quart on the conversion app I've got it gives me the option for us or UK quarts. One is 0.9 and the (uk) is 1.1 litre. For once in my life I listened to advice and put about 3/4 litre in. The indicator doesn't show full but it's close enough. Just hope it's not the Audi curse where perfectly good engines bleed out.
Cheers
