Got ours a few months after we collected the car. Only problem is that it has my name on it and the car is registered in my wife's name. She wasn't happy about that so it's stayed in the box. Not sure what I'd do with it anyway. Probably would've displayed it with the kids trophies if it had the right name on it.

Same thing happened with the Boxster. SWMBO hasn't noticed it has my name on it, so it is lurking in my model car collection.

My son fancies a pylon, so he is thinking about buying a new 2018 911 when it arrives in 2019, a few months after his Macan S is three years old. An expensive pylon me thinks, but then you only live once :)

Very expensive paperweight indeed!

Just mentioned to my wife that the same thing happened to you and got an earful about mysoginist car salespeople. That'll teach me to keep my mouth shut in future!

Sorry to revive an old thread but one of these things arrived in the post yesterday. At least, compared to some in the thread, the postman actually delivered it :) .

Any idea what the criteria is for receiving a pylon as I didn't get one for either the Cayenne or the Macan SD? Perhaps they were not sporty enough!

I had a letter with mine inviting me to a personalised "Masterclass" about the Macan. Sounds like a belated super handover session.

A pylon is sent to you following the purchase of any brand new Porsche.

The Masterclass is given [usually] by your dealer's sales executive that you dealt with, It is for you to clarify any operational issues, explanation of car's functions etc that you may have after the initial couple of weeks. - example - settings up PCM to your liking or explaining available menu options.

As a serial Porsche owner you may have everything covered already!

I wonder when the practise started. This thread started in April 2017 and referred to deliveries in late 2016. Maybe my 2013 Cayenne and 2015 Macan were too early.

Hi Peter,

I didn’t get one for my Macan, but I picked that up in the spring of 2016. I did get one for my 2017 Panamera 4 (collected spring 2017) and one for my Carrera T (April 2018).

Cheers,
Simon

If that splendiferous object d’art is what Porsche rewards you with for buying new, then I am so glad I bought both of mine second hand 😂
