I quite like moderators.. especially the ones that bang on about how important they are - very amusing - like giving a 5 year old a gold star :)

I bought a pair of Geox Nebula shoes in Italy a couple of weeks ago in the sale and they have to be one of the lightest most comfortable pairs of shoes I've ever worn.

Nuclear Nick wrote: Fri Jul 21, 2017 7:10 am There's some really good stuff in this thread, but isn't a lot getting lost in the ramblings, making it difficult to find again? Seems to be slightly defeating the object of having Forum topics in the first place.
Yea, but this is the random chitchat thread in the off-topic chat section.

The only way to keep things on-topic is to have effective moderation. The sections should have moderators. The person starting a thread should be able to moderate the thread.

Perhaps you could start by reporting posts as being off-topic? Dunno where our mod has got to though.
I did consider that, but it seemed a little heavy handed. I guess I was just trying to encourage posters to think about where they post stuff. For example, surely BBB's PCM issue, which certainly isn't random chit chat or off-topic, should be in the main Macan topic or in the Technical forum where it can be easily retrieved?

Miffed.

I was planning on going to Birkdale to watch the Open but decided against it as the weather forecast was for rain all afternoon.

Sat watching it at home, no rain, no rain expected until late afternoon.

Hence miffed.

How is that local lad doing, Col? The one who played on the course as a boy.

Tommy Fleetwood is the local lad on +6 at the start of the day

He is not doing to well as he is over the projected cut of +4 so will not play the weekend unless he gets better.

Conditions on course have deteriorated so it will be even harder for him as he is on hole 5 after even pars so far.

Yes, the PCGB does seem to be primarily a 911 club, with the odd Cayman and Boxster for good measure. I think it will take a while before Porsche's best seller (the Macan) represents the majority at PCGB gatherings...

About 50/50 911/Boxster at RIAT on Sunday. Oh, and, of course, one lonely Macan. 😳
