Those artist impressions do look nice, but they still suffer from wasting space with rear seats that almost nobody can use.
Agreed. Would probably end up with rear seats similar to a 911 or TT (e.g. for small children only)
Maybe the current Panamera saloon is about as sporty looking and coupe-like as a Porsche can get while still having adult-sized rear seat accommodation...

Definitely impressions only. And definitely not from Porsche. The Panamera Coupe/928 may never see the light of day. Some articles from last year stated that the plans for such a car had been shelved...

Agreed. Looks a bit too much like the original Cayenne, which I didn't like.
A large SUV is never going to win a beauty competition, but I do happen to like the look of my 2015 Cayenne S.
But I will not be replacing it with the new model if the spy shots are anything to go by as it looks like a cross between the current model and an inflated Macan, which is half way through it's life cycle. Hopefully the rumoured Panamers Coupe/928 will fit the bill perfectly as a replacement for both my current cars
Side comparisons
Given the total lack of disguise, I wonder if the "new" Cayenne in your pictures is a development mule. I had a 2013 Cayenne diesel in the same colour and with the same wheels as your 2015. I still like the Cayenne and will be interested to seen what the new on actually looks like when it is announced.

Interesting artist's impressions...
What's the point of choosing that over a 911? It doesn't look significantly more practical. It certainly wouldn't replace our family car for sure!
Having mulled it over, my guess now is that if this car ever sees the light of day, it'll have more rear passenger space than a 911, but obviously less than the Panamera saloon. Otherwise, as has been said, what is the point?
Let's see...

I read in one of the motoring magazines that the Coupe/928 is going to be shorter a Panamera. An Audi A5 Sportback, which is 12" shorter, is quite roomy in the back. The A5 Coupe is 2.8" shorter than that and the rear seats as still usable. Getting in and out might be a bit awkward, but the styling should compensate for that if the rear seats were only used occasionally. Let's hope Porsche releases some details in the not too distant future.
