When I worked for Bentley we went to Mercedes world a number of times to check out their facilities. The thing that often surprised me was just how much speed they got up to on a relatively small and tight track with limited run off. Some of their instructors were pretty talented drivers.

My abiding memory of a visit to Mercedes World some years ago was the "noise" of the various 6.3 engined AMG cars blasting around the circuit. You just can't beat the sound of a large V8.

My PEC instructor didn't seem appreciative when I suggested that tyre squeal meant i'd got the speed about right!
