Yup, it's an " l" on mine too...

regardless.......back to exciting places todrive, Sri Lanka is a bit like a less developped India..........pedestrian overtakes bullock overtaking dog. In the meantime, bicycle overtakes pedestrian, moped overtakes bicycle, tuk-tuk overtakes moped, truck overtakes tuk-tuk, car overtakes truck, bus overtakes car.......and the same coming the other way! But all "toot" politely and come out safe and sound the other side.

As an alternative - UK motorways at the weekend when the elderly and female drivers venture out on to the part of the road network where they have no experience (a bit sweeping possibly, but more than a grain of truth...)

We found quite the reverse with drivers stopping at crossing almost in anticipation! Maybe there are regional characteristics?
Same here, although some might say most of my holiday attire is hi vis.

Switzerland:
26 road deaths per mln. inhabitants
-15% reduction of road deaths between 2015 and 2016 (EU average -2%)
+34% reduction of road deaths between 2010 and 2016 (EU average -19%)

Yet with a society where you possibly would't want to keep on living :-/
Used to have 2016 Macan Turbo PHCKCL70
Previously a 2014 Macan Turbo.
Now a 2021 Tesla Model 3 LR

I was tempted to say Egypt based on many experiences being driven around the Cairo Ring Road when I was working out there or perhaps India where 3 or 4 vehicles all trying to overtake each other despite a lorry coming the other way was common place. But I'd have to say Italy. Its the only place I've been too where everytime I've been I've either witnessed or seen the aftermath of several accidents. The trip we've just come back from totalled 3, 2 involving motorcycles. The worst and in a way funniest was watching a Fiat trying to overtake another Fiat around a roundabout in Bologna a few years ago when he lost control and the car flipped onto its roof and skidded into the barrier across from where we were standing. Several people applauded once they realised the driver was ok. Nowhere else on earth do I believe you will see that.

The UK certainly has its fair share of slow and selfish drivers. I suppose the "war on speeding motorists" doesn't help.

Undecided between India or China. In India a green traffic light means go, amber means go faster and red means go if you think no officials are looking! In China I remember being at the front row at traffic lights on a three lane dial carriageway, we were going to go straight ahead in the middle lane, when the lights went green, the car to our left turned right and the van to our right turned left, how there was no collision I've no idea! On their equivalent of a motorway, litter pickers are walking along the road picking up stuff while the cars whizz past, no warning signs or anything, apparently there is money to be made from cans and plastic!

Italy gets my vote, though I haven't driven in India or China. I found USA drivers to be most polite.

Polite, maybe, but with a predisposition for waiting at a junction and watching the oncoming vehicle until too late, under any normal circumstances, then diving out. And their road fatality stats are dreadful.
