I am pleased to see Jaguar have replaced the rising/ rotating gear selector with a gear lever, but I am not keen on the wheel options.
If I do revert back to one car it will be a face-lifted Macan Turbo.

This thing is at 1984mm stupidly wide and just 14mm (half an inch ) less than a Bentley Bentayga. An inch wider than a Cayenne! It's a bullfrog that won't fit in the garage! I'm sure it'll be a huge hit but the school run parkers aren't particularly considerate at the best of times so this will just add to the fun and games.
As the space is in the width surely the legroom and boot space are compromised. And neither is it that quick - most are in the high 7s or mid 8s - unless you pay top wack and then you're in moderately specced Macan territory.

Mike, I think that Jaguar are not primarily aiming at the potential Macan buyer with this car. The bulk of sales will be at a price point below the cheapest Macan, for those who like the looks and the Jag badge, and who are less concerned about sporty performance and handling.

As a serious Macan competitor, I agree, particularly at the bottom to mid end. However if Jaguar believe that performance and handling are no longer important to their target then I think they've lost their way. Performance and handling is Jaguar. And they are in danger of getting into markets and volumes for which they're clearly unprepared. They're sacrificing ethos for a games of badges. And the danger there is that it threatens to compromise the status of the brand to their top end customers.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2017 5:55 pmDandock wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2017 5:48 pmWing Commander wrote: ↑Fri Jul 14, 2017 4:35 pm In terms of exterior dimensions the E Pace is about 11" shorter than a Macan, 2.4" wider and 1" taller.

It will be interesting to see how the motoring journalists rate this new Jag after full road tests...
...and I guess that just because the 0-62 figures don't look that impressive, doesn't mean that overall performance, and handling, won't be top notch for the class...

With a track that wide relative to wheelbase it potentially could be quite sharp but I'm sure that to live up to the badge it needs some fire in its belly. I wonder what other versions they might have in mind?
