Gloucester to Manchester (130 miles) in 75 minutes.

No, not me but a Specialist Service Engineer in his Company Merc Sprinter that I had to call out to repair a Rotary UPS unit that was showing a major fault.

He arrived said 75 minutes after I spoke to him in the factory in Gloucester.

It normally takes that time to get to Stafford so it must have been about 3am and with afterburners.

An average speed of 104 miles an hour is going some, to say the least. Average speed, not maximum.

I think there is a huge driver behaviour problem to deal with if you start limiting the ability of a car to speed - the car will now keep them from speeding so they will just drive throttle to floor everywhere as not speeding = safe in the mind. You'll see issues going into speed limits as some will try coasting as fast as possible then when they enter a faster limit the car will speed up suddenly (won't make good headlines for safety device .if it causes too many accidents as one car speeds up faster than one in front)

Then you won't be able to ensure the GPS is reliably picking up the right road in some places and two cars following each other may have a slightly different position and that assumes the software is perfect

Finally think of all those who depend ob speed cameras to show how they are improving safety/revenue
