I have just driven past our local LR dealer and saw an all white Velar perched outside on an angled plinth. It reminded me of a Beluga whale. Come to think of it, Beluga would have been a good name for it

Ditto but can't agree about the interior design. Far too blingy for me. Obviously aimed and China and the US who very much go for that look.

The car is aimed to appeal to Women so they claim. Same as the Fpace was to appeal to women.

Drove to Stratford upon Avon this afternoon which must be JLR central! Saw dozens of one form or another. Followed a Disco Sport for a good while then as we got into the town they were wall-to-wall. At the Waitrose roundabout we were joined by an F-Pace and a Velar and we queued behind them all the way in so we has a really good look at the rear and yes, it's a piece of work.
I noticed the tailpipes were quite far underneath pointing downwards and mostly hidden/covered by the plasticky bits.

The gaps around the tailgate looked a bit uneven and there was a little bit of something hanging down from the outside rear wheel arch. There was also a downwards pointing arrow between the tailgate and the light cluster ??

And it's biggest competitor will be the Disco!

Do you think the interior of the velar is more blingy that the new panamera?

The interior is the best bit for me but maybe I like a bit of bling and hence the red leather in my Macan

The quote I saw was 'designed with women in mind', which is a bit different from 'aimed to appeal to...'

There's an unfinished look about its flanks and its arse is almost grumpy cat.

Being kind, I'd say distinctive. Not quite my cup of tea, but not hideous.

I actually think the rear is the best view - but only on this model, which is £83k, has the biggest wheels, and every external option. One of the models I saw had no rear exhausts showing at all, totally hidden underneath. It even had the sales guy on his hands and knees when I pointed it out. It looked weird!
Present: Macan S 2019 (PK1QF9N7), Audi Q3 S-line Quattro
Previous: Maserati Ghibli, 944, 911, Cayman, many Benz & BMW coupes. Sahara Beige Capri with brown vinyl roof. And a Renault R4L. (I'd like another).
