Some rumours on Rennlist of Porsche stopping diesel production...

Just checked configurators. Panamera SD has disappeared, but SD Macans & Cayennes are still configurable.

And no sign of a diesel 911...!

Yep, it's gone, also on the german website. 🤔
I testdrove the new panamera 4 SD 6 months ago and loved it. High speed bullet train on the highway with all that torque.

Agreed. I borrowed one for 400 miles, prior to ordering my Panamera 4.

An awesome V8 Diesel engine with Starship Enterprise performance!

It 'was' the fastest production diesel on the market.

Had they offered it in the non 'S' spec, I may well have been tempted!

Aren't the V8 diesels suffering a recall in Germany? ( the Porsche ones, not Audi ones). Perhaps this is a temporary preemptive strike.

The Panamera V8 diesel engine is brilliant and very fast.

I feel a bit sorry for the various manufacturers who have spent vast amounts of money developing refined, fast, fuel efficient and relatively clean diesel engines to find that they are now not wanted by governments etc..

Ah, could be, goron. Although a 'Car' magazine review said it's the same V8 diesel as featured in the Audi SQ7... 🤔

Mind you, porsche often remove things from the website only to bring them back a few weeks later.
Often down to parts availability.

Yep. Currently a six month wait for PSE on a Panamera (new order or retro-fit).

And the previous Macan episode with the RS Spyder wheels...

There is only VW to thank for the downturn in oil burners.

Had they produced oil burners that actually meet the emission standards then the whole dieselgate would not have happened to the degree that it has.
