So, on this day, two years ago, I said goodbye to my lovely Florence :(

And hello to Otto

Then after what I consider an extended test drive, on May 14 2016, I said hello to Otto 2.

Who knows what's next, but I still miss Florence.

Funny how we miss our favourite cars isn't it? Especially if it/they had to go for 'forced' reasons, like family, finances, etc. And you must miss Florence if you've been counting the days!

All three are great cars, but Florence stands out that bit more as a 'special' motor.

Interested to see what the future holds for you, goron, motoring wise...

I have occasionally, yes.

Just the other day I was looking at a C4S with power pack that is (in my eyes), classier styling than the GTS, but GTS tech.. more expensive than the GTS though.

This, if you are curios. http://www.porsche-code.com/PJ1T8XK5

But 911s are generally not my bag. Silly packaging. Although I wonder what all the purists will say when the 911 is electric.

For road use I actually prefer the rear engine 911 layout over a mid engine layout. It gives an advantage in both traction and braking at the expense of ultimate cornering grip. While on a track the latter is important, on the road you will always make far more use of the traction and braking capability in everyday use. 911s old and new have always amazed me with their traction out of slow corners and superb braking. They're pretty handy on track too, but mid engined cars are generally easier to drive in that environment.

Lovely spec. I would have to go to the GTS though because of the spec / pricing even though the styling is nicer on C4S.
I can see a 100 page thread coming up on what options you should have ;)

I am not convinced on anything electric currently let alone a 911.

Ha! No, I don't need help with options on the 911.. It's all rather expensive anyway.

I am VERY tempted by this right now.

Looks to be a V10 version of Florence with fewer miles. And crucially, cruise control, so I'm not crippled after 4 hours on the motorway.

R8's are not my speciality, but that looks like great value for money at Β£55K compared to other supercars. You certainly wouldn't get a decent 997 Turbo for that sort of money. If I was in the market for a weekend supercar, I'd take a good look at one of those for sure.
