Yes, "still a bit of 2017 left, I suppose." And there will still be SDs in the pipeline that were ordered well before the shit really hit the fan in the last quarter.

What will be telling is the numbers come Geneva show next year. Most car makers will have flushed any stock commitments by then, and we'll see how the allocations made for the 2018 year.

So there you have it, do 20,000 miles a year and get a free iPhone X. Sorted!

Buyers will buy what they want.

Their choice will be the absolute best Macan within the range.

One thing I think that is certain......buyers tend to only look at annual costs rather than the costs over the whole period of ownership.

10,000 miles per annum and a diesel is cheaper by £500.
More like monthly costs in this age of finance. A few hundred quid on fuel per annum seems to be a deal breaker for many.

And then large fines/fees for taking your oil burner into ULEZ zones.
And window replacements because of all bricks thrown by eco-hippies.

Not sure where "we" get the Macan diesel registered figures (800). According to "my" figures 6900 were registered in 2017 (so far). :)

Not to mention all the waiting and the gas guzzling emissions of the breakdown truck taking the SD back to the dealer to get the DPF issues sorted (again).

I read it as accumulative numbers, so it's 6891 by the end of 1Q2017

It's clearer when you look at this:
https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/vehicle/p ... -a#!newreg

Explicitly shows 886 for 1Q2017 SD new registrations.

Rab J wrote: Tue Sep 12, 2017 5:13 pm I think that the idea of 18mpg would put most of the idea of a full sized SUV. Sales would collapse without diesel engines. At the moment in the UK only a very small percentage are petrol...

This is changing. Just checked figures for 2017 Macan registrations.

Petrol = 52%.
Diesel = 48%.

Breakdown:

SD = 886
GTS = 436
S = 252
Turbo = 137
2.0 = 93
Turbo PP = 35

:ugeek:

And my car is even rarer, with only 14 registered! ;)
