Do you really not wash you car or do you just get someone else to do it. (careful how you answer, you may well get expelled from the forum :D )

I have someone else do it.
I actually like driving. I'm not particularly keen on cleaning it and I'm quite happy for experienced techs to do the maintenance too.
Used to have 2016 Macan Turbo PHCKCL70
Previously a 2014 Macan Turbo.
Now a 2021 Tesla Model 3 LR

I've seen this happen with two other customers whilst being kept waiting in my local OPC. One of them also insisted they use the ad-blue he'd bought as he also had the pig piss warning light on.

Not all OPCs are equal, of course, but worth a punt, or at least asking in advance.
This is interesting advice that I had not considered. I suppose that asking them in advance to itemise the service would help as you would then know how much you would end up paying and how much you would save by bringing your own oil. All for a Porsche stamp in the book!

Update:

Took the car in this morning. First Panamera they've had in that's done (nearly) 10,000 miles. I'm on just over 9,600. They checked and said that all new Panameras - petrol, diesel and e-hybrid are on a variable oil change indication (although my car said 10k miles or 12 months for oil change).

Official price is £322, but they'll kindly do it for £300. :|

They said at interim service (20k) if my car doesn't need another oil change, they'll only charge £130 ( or it might be £160) for the other interim service bits (but excluding brake fluid change, I imagine) I won't hold my breath!

Probably too late, but it sounds as if yours was incorrectly set up to time and distance at PDI. If they’re saying it should be on variable.....then it should be on variable and therefore not due an oil change now....with your motoring you should be able to get to 20000 miles before its due (and have the small service at the same time)

Oh bugger! If that is the case, maybe I could get away with not needing another oil change at 20k...??

Oil changed. The OPC insist that all new Panameras have variable oil intervals.

Dashboard now saying that interim service still due at 20k, as expected, or March 2019.

It says next oil change is due Oct 2019 or in another 20k miles from now if sooner.

I will keep an eye on these to see how/if they change...

For anyone interested, the breakdown of the £300 oil change cost was:

£178.15 for labour
£94.94 for Mobil 1 5W Synthetic Engine Oil
£26.12 for oil filter element
£0.78 for sealing ring

All the above include VAT. :geek:

Ha ha! I wondered if someone would spot that!!

But, as you say, I got a Porsche to drive for a day, which would be worth something in most people's book! :)

I am not sure about the dash-displayed service intervals.

On my Sep 2015 Macan SD, I had my first 'interim' service done in Aug 17 at 2yrs/11000 miles. The in-car display now says:

- (Major) Service: Aug 2021 or 40,000 miles
- (Interim) Service: Aug 2019 or 20,000 miles
- Oil Change: Aug 2019 (or in 10,000 miles)

Whereas the service book clearly states that the first 'major' service should be after 4 years. But perhaps due to my low mileage I can delay the first major service until the 6 year point, in 2021.

That does seem odd. I would have thought that your first major service would be at 4 years, so Sept 2019. :?

Maybe the service dept pressed the wrong buttons when re-programming your in-car service indicator?
