"For instance, the range-topping M40i has that letter at the beginning of its name because it has been fettled by BMW’s motorsport division. Its bespoke suspension set-up makes it very nearly the best handling large SUV on the market - the best remains the Porsche Macan, but not by much."

Not much in it, size-wise.
New BMW X3 is 0.75" longer, 1" narrower and 2" taller than a Macan.

Thanks. I thought the older one was quite a bit smaller.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Mon Oct 16, 2017 7:36 pm

I quite liked the X5 too. And as I've found with the Panamera, you quickly and easily get used to driving a bigger vehicle.
If I was in the market for an X5-sized SUV though, I'd now go for a Cayenne!

Had an X5 and it was a hugely practical car but a somewhat dull drive. X3 has always seemed a little bit "meh" to me and definitely the poor relation to the X5 so, in conclusion, the Macan is the best bet for now!

+1. I still have my 10 yr old X5 and it’s a great yoke.
