And it's a four cylinder!

I really don't have a problem with 4 cylinder engines as long as they have enough power.
I remember a BMW salesman telling me how great the 6 cylinder engine was - "you could balance a coin on it". To be honest it's not the first thing I expect / want from an engine

The GTS has only 15 bhp more than the S - sits lower and has dark wheels and tinted lights along with a revised front spoiler. Haven't seen the full launch specs yet, but I don't think I'd be tempted out of the S. I'll be at OPC on Thursday night for the Gran Turismo launch so I'll find out a bit more then.

I didn't think the standard 718S I drove was short of power. Would have to be a six to tempt me which I accept is probably never going to be seen again in a Boxster

The GT4 should hopefully have a naturally aspirated 6 cylinder engine when it comes along... Maybe not in Boxster format though...

If you want the sporty bits (e.g. Sport Chrono, PSE, PTV, PASM etc) then the GTS is actually a bargain compared to the 718S!
365hp. 4 cylinder 2.5 litre flat 'Boxer' engine. The 0-62 is only 0.1 seconds quicker than the S. Top speed 180mph.
Cayman from £59,866. Boxster from £61,727.

Nice, but I stopped playing on the config when I went north of £75 K for the Boxster version (not even really trying)

Wow! Close to 911 territory! (£77,891).
Which would you spend £78k on...?

Mine but the PP version.
. .
You can keep the low sports cars they are useless for everyday usage for this old guy.
No, I do not want one as a second car, would rather have a motorcycle as a second vehicle anyday.

GTS is always better value than the S - you get lots of sporty bits as standard, performance isn't that much faster than an S but you do get a car that is that much more raw. Its supposed to bridge the gap between the S cars and the GT cars.
