718 GTS just launched
Anyone else thinks that the GTS, once specced isn't actually that much better value (for 15bhp) than a similarly specced S?

+1. With a similar spec there is very little difference in price. The extra 15 bhp knocks 0.1 second off the 0-60 (big deal), so it really comes down to whether you like the gts trim and black accents, which I don’t. Black wheels are for mini cabs imho.....Each to their own!
Gone: Macan S petrol
Gone: Boxster S:
Now: 911 (991.2) Carrera S

I was talking last night to my SE at an event in Belfast and he pretty much agreed. I was expecting at least 400bhp - but that's 911 territory.

I couldn't agree more regarding black wheels although I do feel they are mean charging to have the badges in black!Zinzan wrote: ↑Fri Oct 20, 2017 12:44 pm +1. I think I like it, turbo boxer 4 aside.
If I specced an S it would more or less what the GTS has as standard so I’d only have to debadge it.
Price is v similar too.
And of course you don’t lose as much money when you drive it away.

I have moaned before about the loss of NA engines but that is both inevitable and somewhat hypocritical given I have a McLaren with a turbo V8 and an incoming AMG with a turbo V8 (which has been delayed during factory build ), and have had 911 Turbos before. I am still struggling with a 4 pot but have decided to go for a Cayman GTS anyway as figure it will be a great drive for a weekend normal use car.
Might have to lock spec sooner that I originally assumed...here is my starter for 10, as usual trying to keep the cost down so that the GTS is (relatively) good value. Only thing am not 100% sure on is GTS package - doesn't seem to be any info on the configurator as to what this includes, although it is mandatory with a contrast stitch interior.
