I don’t know about the punishment but I hope that the repair is a good one. I have been unfortunate enough to curb a wheel in my Boxster in the past and the repair was terrible. It was knowhere near original spec and looked like it had been sprayed with Hamerite paint - then it started falling off.
To make matters worse I then curbed my wife’s Macan 21” turbo wheel in a multi story car park. It’s only a small one so haven’t had it fixed yet at £150. I’m not confident that they would do a decent job on it.

My Mrs got a rear nearside (how???) scrub on the 718. Then about a week later I thought I was a bit far out from a kerb and put a rash on the front. Damn! We're off for a few weeks over Christmas, so I might get them repaired then.

In the mean tine, could you colour them in with a black marker to lessen the visual impact?

Lots of constructive ideas here which I'll discuss with Mrs C later. :D By the way, it was her idea that I share this with you all. She did the same on another (dog related) forum where the reaction from the men was shock and from the women was "hopefully he won't notice". One woman did comment that I would definitely notice the wheel, probably long before I would notice a change in hair style. She might be right.

My wife is pretty handy with a Sharpie so I'm lucky she didn't just colour it in.

Its going to the bodyshop next week where they want to keep it for up to three days - don't know why it takes so long. The charge is £100+VAT which doesn't feel unreasonable; it is Porsche after all. I'll post another picture when its done.

That sounds expensive. There are guys around our neck of the woods who do a refurb for about £50. I think I'm going to leave mine in to the guys who do all my body repairs (with a careless wife and four kids, there were the inevitable repairs needed over the years) as their work is always very good.
