Again, limp mode and dpf regeneration issues are wholly separate from the cheat device.

“Countless regeneration cycles” are anecdotal at best and limited, in the main, to vehicles where the usage is innapropriate (and has been since diesel dpf’s were introduced) irrespective of brand.

Potential future losses would need crystalising prior to any compensation claim (and residuals are currently in line, or above, general market expectations.)

Anyway, I’m off to the kitchen for a(nother) glass of Malbec!🍷(stirred not shaken)

I wasn't aware the Macan had a "cheat device"??? I was aware lots of the VW / Audi engines had it.

A lot of Macan SD's have not had any DPF issues.

Well, chin chin gentlemen. I am on beer tonight. 🍻 🤓

I remember when I had my baby BMW 123d Coupe back in 2010, the DPF regeneration was already hotly discussed. I never had any problems as I only really did longer and continental journeys, hence I chose diesel over petrol then.
Our Macan SD never had any DPF issues in the 18,000 odd miles we drove it for, it ran like a dream and was a joy on those continental journeys, having to refuel only once on a 800 mile run. We had to stop more ofter for bladder deballasting.
The diesel engines have become so much more complicated to make them less dirty, and perhaps the manufacturers / dealers should have been more forthcoming with information that the modern diesels are really only good for certain type of journeys and not for local pottering around / school runs.
Our stable:

Have to agree.

I remember saying on a previous post that if I could get a bigger bladder fitted I could drive forever (ish) :D
