Well I have had an excellent two days off work.
Planned to do a long cycle yesterday - got 30 miles from home, had a flat. Fine. Put new tube in, only 15 mins wasted. Mile later another flat. Only carrying one spare tube. Bit of an issue but not insurmountable...out comes the repair patch kit. Started raining heavily and since was in the middle of countryside on the side of a road, no shelter. Couldn't get the glue to bind in the rain so after 45 mins, gave up walked mile carrying bike in cycle shoes to the nearest pub. Then waited another two hours for wife to be able to pick me up. Not the best use of a day.
Today went up to Norfolk early this morning to see my 98 year old grandfather. Returned this afternoon. Got a puncture 3/4 of the way home - the first for about 20 years. GT R obviously doesn't have things like spares as it runs a 20" 325 width cup 2 tyre. Merc assistance called at 6:25pm. Recovery truck arrived at 8:45pm. Now in the back of said truck on the way home. Not the best evening!
I am giving up on cars and bikes - will stick to my weekday train and feet from now on!

Ah well - I'm sure that Grandad was pleased to see you. At least you had the puncture after your visit!

One time on bike I got a puncture, fixed puncture but then had problems with value, no problem put spare tube in and managed to break the value on that tube - but fortunately after I inflated it it so it was a rather careful ride home.
The day after I put a deposit down on a new car - the old one must have had a sulk as it picked up a slow puncture.
It could be worse , when I visit gran just before Christmas last year - I hit a deer on the A1 on way home

Good point - bare feet safer
