A test drive earlier this year reawakened the desire, and then another drive in a GTS cab while my Macan Turbo was in for some work a couple of weeks ago really set it off. After chewing it over for two or three minutes and spending a couple of hours on the phone, followed by a visit or two to my OPC it was pen to paper on a Carrera GTS Coupe. The OPC had a build slot available in February so that now has my name on it. The anticipation and the wait starts all over again!

I'm aiming for a fairly 'low' spec, one that has my 'essentials' only. We'll see how that stands up between now and lockdown. The only concession to bling is red seat belts! For those interested: http://www.porsche-code.com/PJJV2DJ0.

Before you ask, after much deliberation and consultation with my better half, we're keeping the Macan. I really didn't want to part with it, having spec'd it as a keeper and really loving it for all the great things it does. It's a fantastic car, but it's not a sports car and so that part of me that has stirred again will, I have no doubt, be more than satisfied by the rather awesome GTS. If I don't do it now, I probably never will!

Congrats Nick and I think your thinking is similar to mine but I can’t justify keeping the Macan as well. I managed to keep my extras reasonably sensible and have resisted the confuserator making me spend more!

Thanks VanB, I agree we're on the same tack. Keeping the Macan will mean bread and water only for a while, and no Christmas presents for anyone, except me! But I don't want want to load the GTS down with a lot of hefty extras anyway, it's a sports car after all.

I think your extras come to much the same as mine so Feel a little vindicated in my choices.

The wait begins and it’s not nice!

Exciting news, Nick!

Not that I am jealous!

"The only concession to bling is red..."

For a millisecond, I thought you'd opted for Carmine Red! ;)

White looks fab, and leaves the option of decorating with Martini stripes! 😎

Roll on Feb/March! Not too long to wait really... :D
