Agreed, be it Macan or 911, the GTS seems a great all round choice and the sweet spot of the range, as has been said by many before. Probably for many/most, the GTS is the best option for (relatively) sensible money that 'normal' people can actually buy (unlike GT3 etc). And they seem to hold their value pretty well too.
Dammit, I've got the 911 bug too!

Oh yes, absolutely agree! I was just trying to clear up the confusion, at least in me, over leather interior. I knew I'd been told that '911s' had leather as standard, but either the person who told me was economical with the truth or my hearing/understanding (more likely) was deficient. Having poured over the confuserator again I see that only the GTS and GT versions do not have leather as standard. No doubt Porsche wisdom again, although I don't see why they would do that. Not to worry, I'm sure I'll be happy with the standard interior.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Fri Nov 24, 2017 5:00 pm GTS still represents good value and a great 911 variant, Nick!

I would say it's most likely that the SE honestly thought that your GTS would come with the leather bits, as that is the case with the Carreras and Turbos.
Not so much Porsche wisdom, as Porsche profit maximisation!
And it's not just any old standard interior, it's a 'Porsche' standard interior. And you'll be too busy enjoying the driving to worry about weather the dash top & door tops are leather or leatherette!

Not that I had a hope in hell of getting a GT3 but the more I look into it the more I think the GTS might actually be the better option for me given I would like to do a bit of touring in the car. The advantage the GT3 has to most is very strong residuals. It is of course also a better track car but I would guess few will take it any closer to a track than the car park. The GTS I test drove had any amount of noise inside for comfort on a road car. Anything more would quickly become wearing so IMHO the GTS is the best all rounder, fast, special and useable.

Heard today that lock down has come forward from 9 January to 19 December! I think the spec was pretty much decided anyway, the only thing I will probably add is the tinted rear window (but not the sides). Anyone any thoughts on that?
