Can't help it, but it just feels so wrong with upcoming "future" vehicles with exhaust tips...
And why having a gear stick at all when it looks like that? And come on Porsche, get rid of that analogue rpm-gauge and unnecessary speedo showing 0-200mph that just takes screen real estate from other more important info.
Apart from that I like it

Thanks for sharing, Steve.
I thought the same about the gear selector, John. I very much doubt that the final version will look like that.
Not surprisingly, lots of Panamera-style instruments & dashboard etc. They'll keep the analogue rev counter for the sake of tradition. When driving, it's virtually impossible to perceive the difference between the analogue rev counter and the other digital dials etc.
Am not a fan of the new 'wraparound' rear spoiler when it's in the raised position.
Looking forward to seeing the fully finished 992 (?) with all the disguise removed.

I’m not sure what I think. Evolutionary rather than revolutionary a la Panamera but it doesn’t seem to look quite right

I think that's because of the camouflage/disguise. I feel confident that it'll look good once fully revealed.
A couple of the shots of the front look a bit like a 993.

Cant see a lot of change myself which is consoling given I'm one of a few with 1.2 on order, but then the 911 evolution has always been very gradual
Not so sure about the full width rear spoiler either, looks a bit like you've driven off with the boot open.

As much as I love the 911, I'm a lot more interested in the Mission-E than this subtle evolution. Ever since the 997 (which was a huge improvement over the 996 inside and out) it seems like they have simply run out of ideas and made subtle styling changes just for the sake of it and not always an improvement. The 991 interior was a reasonable step forward, but I was never particularly in love with the rear end styling. I have to say this doesn't look very exciting to me either. Just further 911 plastic surgery that it really didn't need! If I ever decide to buy another modern 911, I'll probably look for a 997.2 or 991.1 GTS. Nothing since has made me want to spend any more money on a 911.
