Hi All,

I got a phone call from my SA today to excitedly tell me they will be getting their allocation for the New Cayenne on Friday

I have a deposit down for a new Cayenne Turbo and Its been nearly 3 years since I last went through this with Porsche, so please help me jog my memory. What does this mean in the great scheme of things?
Does this mean I will get a build slot or does it just mean I will know approximately where I am in the UK queue?

Thanks..

The latter (but if you’ve had your name down for 3 yrs you’d have to hope you were top / near top of the list?😉)

and sadly the UK queue is not relevant - it’s your dealership’s wait list relative to their allocation that matters to you.

I would have thought that if the dealership were contacting you that you would be getting one of their allocation. If that is the case, you will sign up for your chosen spec and get a build date there and then. That's what happened last week when I signed for the 911, my name was put against one of their allocated slots and once in the system it will generate a build date. This apparently can change a little, but not by any more than one week I believe.

IMO your OPC should have told you where you were in the OPC's queue, I knew exactly on my Macan Petrol S and the 911.

Good luck for tomorrow and ask the question how many allocations have they been given and where were you on the list.

Hopefully time for the configurator :D :D

Spoke to my SA yesterday and he has told me they have been allocated 6 cayenne’s, one of which is a turbo (what I have ordered) and I am second in the queue.
Alarmingly he told me the guy above me in the queue wanted adaptive cruise and that isn’t currently available, even though it is on the confusicator. He didn’t want to wait so removed it from his build.

I have specced innodrive within my build so I wonder if I will be faced with a similar dilemma. I always wanted surround view on my Macan but when I locked in my build it wasn’t available at that time. I regret not waiting so I may be forced to move down the queue if I find myself in a similar position.

My build code is PKL71NY4

I have taken a punt on PTV this time. Not sure whether it is worth it on an SUV but I guess I will find out.
I have also requested the black sports tail pipes, which aren’t on the confusicator but are shown in the online catalogue coded 0P6. Although I may go down a similar route to Wing Commander and have these retrofitted at my OPC at a later date if this will affect delivery.

Let me know what you all think please.

Thanks.

That's a really nice spec!

I would def. add the Ventilated front seats and also the Ioniser. If you have some back seat passenger I'd probably pick the rear airbags as well.

With your build I'm not sure I would change to the black tail pipes. The turbo pipes in stainless goes very well with the other chrome trim on your spec.

Thanks for the feedback Luke.

I have vented seats in my Macan and rarely use them & when I do I can’t say I feel any benefit.

I did have the ioniser selected but took it off to trim the costs.
Interesting thought about the rear airbags. I will be transporting my children regularly.

Hmmm!!

Love this forum. Helping me spend money since 2014.

Lovely looking car smithy, black with red seats would be my pick for a Cayenne. Is the allocation for a two month window like other Porsche variants? If so it might be just as well to hang back until some more options come on line and the guys building them get a bit more experience
