No they weren't surprised, at least not with the 911. They were more surprised when I took the Macan in for an early oil change. It seems it's more common with 911 owners to request 'optional' oil changes. Don't know what one might read into that.
Makes sense, Nick, to me at least. Although I'm happy to go by the owner's manual and the in-car computer for guidance on oil change intervals & servicing etc.
Are you likely to kit your 911 out with winter tyres...?

Oil change is much debated although I doubt Porsche would put £20k miles or 2 years in the manual if they felt there was any issue. I was going to change mine at 10k miles for a bit of peace of mind so interested in the 2.8k oil change.

I’m checking the in-car oil change indicator regularly, as my 2017 Panamera with the petrol 3.0 V6 engine wanted oil every 10k miles. My Carrera T is still saying that oil & service not due until it’s done 20k miles.

WingCo I check mine too regularly and still says 20k. Has yet to use a drop to in nearly 5k miles whereas I had to put a litre in the Macan at this mileage

Still mulling that one over Simon. It's rather costly for the centre lock wheels! As you know, we have the Macan still and that will go onto its winters around November. Will I be able to leave the 911 in the garage.......?

I had this debate with a 997GTS. Nearly pulled the trigger but was looking at OZ Racing wheels as they were considerably cheaper than OEM. Superleggera wheels if I recall. Didn't do it in the end but they would have been perfect for the purpose.
