It was Alex Goy, Henry can’t do them all. [emoji38]

Hi Simon,

As you know I am watching this with interest and have a couple of questions if I may?

Will you let your OPC know what you have done or will it be a case of only if the need arises?
When you come to sell, will you talk to your OPC about a PX (assuming your next car will be a Porsche)?
If so, how do you think he will take the mods you have done or do you think there is a possibility he may decline to offer on your PX?

I am extremely curious as I will no doubt find myself in one of the above mentioned positions come car changeover time should I also go down the Lichfield route.

Thanks

Car looks stunning by the way. Can't wait to hear about the oily mods!!

Hi Smithy,

I have spoken to my insurer, but not my OPC yet. Insurer knows that I’ve had the suspension/handling modifications done - no effect on premium.

When I have the other items done, they said that would add 15% to the premium, based on the power hike (30% more horsepower).

My 20k service is booked for July. Let’s see if they notice the new springs & spacers etc! ;)

I’m not planning on announcing to them about any of the mods, but I am aware that I’m taking a risk, both in terms of warranty, and future resale value.

Maybe I’m spending too much time on the Rennlist 991 forum. Most contributors on there are in the US and they seem to modify their cars much more over there!

I think the fact that I’m getting these modifications done kind of cements my decision to make this one a keeper, although there must be a market for modified 911s out there, albeit more restricted than the mainstream market for used cars.

Cheers,
Simon

Thanks Simon.
Like I say, I am interested as I would eventually like to go down this route. Although how far, I’m not sure. All of these burning questions are of relevancy to my final situation so I’m kind of glad you are ploughing the way first.

Wished I’d not seen the rennlist forum though. I’m now reading through the “What did you buy your 991 today” thread and can already feel my wallet disintegrating in my pocket.

Have booked in with Litchfield Motors for the rest of the modifications:

* ECU remap
* Remus exhaust
* New manifolds fabricated by Litchfield
* New sports CATs

365bhp becomes 480bhp. :twisted:

Booking is for July, giving time for the piggy bank to be replenished! ;) 💰
