WC - whats the ETA for the return of your T ?

And the early issue you had, which they attributed to the thermostat, could that possibly have been the exchanger too ? In which case good will gesture needed there as well as the turbos

Hi. I have my T back now. I asked about a goodwill gesture towards the oil cooler issue, but as they’d already reduced the charge for the turbos massively, it was no dice. Plus the engine was out already for the turbos, so they had me over a barrel really.

Well, took it to Tewkesbury to get winter wheels/tyres fitted. They spotted a coolant leak!? Am really hoping it’s just residue that wasn’t cleaned off when Swindon fitted the new oil cooler...! 😬 Really don’t want to be stung for a new water pump...

Didn’t they suggest replacing the water pump when they stripped out?

I’ve heard of quite a few 991.2s needing new water pumps. Some more than one! So when Swindon reported a coolant leak, I assumed it was that. I put it to them, but they said definitely not. They said leak was from back of engine. When engine was out, to replace turbos, they diagnosed the oil cooler being the cause of the leak.

Hopefully this time just some residue, but if Swindon have just completed the work and this has resulted in a new leak due to disturbance the onus is still with them. 👍
