I agree Simon. My son is having a few problems with the new Car Play/iPhone/voice interface in his 991.2 C2. When he tells it to dial a contact it always thinks he wants a destination. He is a software engineer, but still can't figure it out yet. Using the phone/bluetooth it works fine. All this touchscreen cyber stuff is getting a bit too clever for normal humans!. Having said that he loves the car, especially the manual gear box. Comparing it with the heavy, clunky V8 Vantage he had there is no contest.

Ah yes the V8 Vantage - test drove one before I bought my Cayman and was positively agricultural in comparison. A beautiful tractor without the grip!

Hi Mistertoad!

Very glad to hear that your son is loving his 991.2 and especially the 7-speed manual transmission, as my Carrera T will be a manual too!

As for Carplay/Connect + or whatever, I've never used it in my Panamera and am unlikely to do so in my Carrera T, unless my new OPC have a really good SE who can teach me in simple terms how to use all this 21st Century software! ;)

I just miss my 911 too much!

This will NOT be another 100 page thread, as if I move on this, I will be doing so quickly, hopefully submitting final spec this week for a March build.

Thoughts on the above spec would be welcomed!

Please be gentle on me!
I missed this.. well done indeed sir!! from a fellow car tart! Yellow suits the T. probably the best model in the range. Look forward to seeing pics after you've taken delivery 8-)

Cheers, Cowan! :)

There could soon be more 'regulars' on here in 911s rather than Macans! :o ;)

Just looked at your spec again. Extremely jealous! I have never driven a manual gearbox with cruise control. Is Cc as useful as on an automatic? Maybe you could have saved a small amount towards the ceramic brakes?

Cheers, Brains. Well I would assume the CC still works with a manual gearbox...?! Don't see why not? I only use it on the average speed camera sections of the motorway (normally M4) so would just be keeping it in 6th or 7th during that time I'd imagine...

Another advantage of the manual gearbox is auto stop will not happen if neutral has not been selected :ugeek:

CC works fine with a manual. ACC is only available on PDK. Dnt know why. I had ACC on manual Golf R.
Macan SD Vocano Grey. LEDs, Pano Roof, PSE, Sports Chrono, PASM, Sports Design Mirrors, 21" Sports Classics in Black, lots of other extras.
