Thanks, Rab & Steve. I'll update on here once I've heard back from the OPC...

Just heard back from Dick Lovett.

They've quoted £1,114 including all parts, labour & VAT for fitting a full set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4S (N0) tyres.

Better value than the £905.94 originally quoted for just the two rear Pirelli tyres! ;)

Thoughts...?

(Red5 suggested going for it & fitting the full set of new Michelins; some would just repair the existing rear tyre for now; some would replace the damaged rear tyre, meaning that both rear tyres would need to be replaced in view of the remaining tread...)

Just do the lot then you have same tyre and compound all around and they are better tyres than the Pirelli too

Always find it scary you have to challenge them on the price.

I would do the lot. I wouldn’t trust a repair on a high performance tyre (not that you are likely to be doing 160mph any time soon). You would like to change to Michelin’s in any case otherwise you change the 2 rears which would need to be Pirellis if not changing the fronts and you won’t get into sync to change all 4 until about 80k miles.

Simples!

Get the 4 x Michelins.

Simon you reported on Mon Nov 18, 2019 @ 8:03 pm this quote " Black Circles. All four Michelin Pilot Sport 4S N0 came out at £861.16".
They have approved tyre depot fitting centres in Swindon and Tewksbury. So why not get it done there and save yourself £252......?

I’ve got them down to £1,000! So I’ve placed an order for a full set of shiny new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres to be fitted to my 20” summer wheels while they’re looking after them over the winter.

Less hassle than taking the car to a tyre depot and getting them changed there, where they might not be as careful as the Porsche technicians at the OPC.

It just goes to prove that it’s always worth haggling with Porsche, whether it’s on the price of a car, the price of parts or on servicing costs. :geek:

£1,000 for 4 Michelins fitted v the original quote for £905.94 for just two Pirellis!

Great result Wing. I certainly wouldn't mind giving the OPC £100 or so for fitting them. Its always worth haggling and in your case it shows just how valuable it can be. I would think you could get a few quid for the Pirellis as well especially the front two.

Thanks, Rab. But that £882.30 price doesn’t including fitting/balancing etc. ;)
