Yes, but in a good way!!! ;)

I just miss my 911 too much!

This will NOT be another 100 page thread, as if I move on this, I will be doing so quickly, hopefully submitting final spec this week for a March build.

Thoughts on the above spec would be welcomed!

Please be gentle on me!
Only 95 pages this time...so far

I’ll keep the behemoth of a thread going Simon :D

I’ve seen on a Litchfield noseybook post that they are working on a cobb ecu remap for the 3.0 turbo engine. For those not familiar with these things, it is a portable device that is pre-loaded with custom maps that the owner can then flash/un-flash at will, rather than having the car plugged into a machine that Litchfield own.

Not sure if I’ve asked you this before but my question, Simon, is did you go down this route or did you just get the standard factory remap?

I’ve mentioned the location of Litchfield is an issue for me and when I finally come to sell the car it would be good to revert back to standard mapping, certainly if I go down the p-ex route, without trailing all the way back to Litchfield.

Concern though is loss of potential performance doing this to the factory remap and any additional cost.

I am stalking Litchfield daily for updates until I finally get to engage in constructive dialect and making a booking.

Hi Smithy

Yeah, I saw their recent post about that too. I did not opt for this Cobb remap involving a portable device, so I guess I’d need to go back to Litchfield (not too far from me) if I wanted the remap reversed. This is unlikely though, especially considering all the other work I had done (new manifolds, new sports CATs, new Remus silencer, new KW springs, spacers etc).

I do appreciate that an OPC may be reluctant to take in my modified T, but the plan is for this one to be a keeper. ;)

Cheers,
Simon

I could see where an OPC might be reluctant to retail a dodgy back street modified car but the Litchfield car is so well done and well regarded I would imagine it would be an easy sell for them.

OPC buyers will mostly run a mile from anything modified!
Also Porsche couldn’t give a warranty with it.

It will be a big NO from any OPC, but WC knows that already :D

I’m sure there’d be plenty of people who’d buy it privately though 8-)

^^^ Yes, he does! ;)

And if/when I decide to sell it, I’d hope there’d be a market of those in the know. :) :ugeek:

Exactly WC ;)

I bought a BMW 135i once, which only attracted me because it was modified!
The quality, brand and names behind the alterations are all important though.

All your Lichfield mods are respected by those in the know. For sure!

My BMW had been on some very expensive trips to Birds and Evolve, otherwise I’d have not bought it 8-)
