Have you had chance to drive their development car to see what the full fat version is like compared to yours? I've had upgrades down to cars in the past and there have been times where I've gone 'naah, wasn't worth it'.
Hi Alex.

The plan is to hopefully get a drive in their Carrera T, on the 11th or 13th of March. If not then, certainly before I give the go ahead for the ECU remap and/or exhaust work...

15% premium increase for a 30% increase in horsepower. Not sure if that's good or not. I know the insurance industry is not your favourite. ;)

At least the policy covers me for 18k miles per year and some track day use...
Good to get a drive in. It's easy to get persuaded by the forums if you can't try something before you buy it. You'll have to report back on how you find it.

Some remaps can be a bit rabid as quite a few tuners in my experience want to extract every ounce out the engine for marketing headlines and 'supercar killer' status. The best ones I've had have been well balanced and restrained. Litchfield know what they're doing so I'm sure it'll be good. Do you know how many cars they've remapped since introducing the package?

The insurance industry and their loss adjuster running dogs are societal tumours. I'm in litigation with a major insurer at the moment regarding a six figure structural warranty claim and they're morally reprehensible in how they've conducted themselves. The claim is indisputable but they're trying to weasel out of it. Get everything in writing and record your calls to insurance companies on this. I'm not naive as to how they operate but there is a point where you'd expect them to hold up their hands and say 'fair enough'.

Talking of insurance/warranty - my GT4 is on recall for a new transmission - third gear issue that has been out in the US for a year on recall is now hitting the UK as a recognised problem. Two day fix. The other issue which Porsche have not officially recognised is a failure where the top of the strut tower shears off - take a look at:

Not sure if it impacts other cars but a GT car designed for road and track should be able to take some compression hitting kerbs although I would avoid high kerbs out of sympathy for the car. I can see a situation where Porsche and the insurance company are just pointing at each other while the owner is stuck.

Took my car into Tewkesbury today to get the winter wheels/tyres swapped for the summers. Service guy said that winter tyres looked as if they’d hardly been used, despite having done over 5,000 miles. :) Got a Cayman loaner, looking smart in Night Blue Metallic. Nippy little car, but I missed having a manual box. Took a few photos of some cars that Tewkesbury OPC had.

Then took my T over to Litchfield. Met Iain. A very nice, down to earth guy. He let me take his Carrera T for a spin. Wow! Felt and sounded great. It’s had the full Litchfield treatment - handling pack, ECU remap, new manifolds & CATs, Akrapovic exhaust. At least 480bhp. He tried to get a 991.2 GT3 for himself, but couldn’t get an allocation, so he bought a T and has pretty much turned it into a stealth GT3. Pics below of the car that I drove, but not my photos.

Micra is the courtesy car from Litchfield!

They are fitting the handling pack now - shorter, stiffer springs, new bushes, spacers all round.

I’ll enjoy the car for a few months then, while I mull over the other modifications. Most likely next would be an exhaust upgrade...

Quite likely that I’ll end up getting most of the Litchfield treatment applied to my T. 8-)

What's the Akrapovic exhaust like?! I hear (excuse the pun!) they add quite a bit of "character" to it!

There are loads of Akrapovic exhaust videos on Youtube. To say that it is hooligan mode is an understatement!
