Eek!
Too far!!!
It now looks as though they've expanded the iPad look to include the instrument cluster.
As Mr. Brando so eloquently put it in the movie Apocalypse Now, "...the horror..."
Is it me or is Mercedes going too far

Oh dear!
Although Mercedes must be doing something right, as the C Class is constantly in the Top Ten of numbers of cars sold in the UK, having displaced the BMW 3 Series. Lots of company car drivers with a C Class, I would guess...
no. 9 Merc C-Class 45,917 sold
no.10 Merc A-Class 43717 sold
Total Merc sales 180,000 "overtaking its German premium rivals - Audi and BMW".
MINI sales were 47,669 taking 8th place.
No other 'premium' brand's models were in the top 10.

It’s all about discounting into fleets.

+1. I bet a huge number of those C Class and A Class cars are company cars & hire cars etc.

Exactly. Has little to do with personal desirability of the actual cars. FWIW (little) the C class appears to have dropped out of the 2018 top ten anway, with the BMW 3 series in at no. 8.

Given a choice of the two, I think I'd opt for the Beemer.

been driving a C350e (PHEV) one for the last 2 years - can categorically state that it's nothing to do with personal desirability...
hybrid is poor
gearbox is gash
breaks are weird
and approaching points where you want to slow but not stop is dangerous as the car engages regeneration and wont switch back to drive anywhere near quick enough...
I'd opt for anything but a merc next time...

Only 12 days into 2018....so do you mean the 12 months of 2017? If so the BMW 3-series did drop out of the top 10 in the UK. The Merc C-Class took 9th place.
