I am always casually looking at 911s on Autotrader and in my mind, have a good idea of the spec I’d be after on a used one - a new one is beyond what I could justify based on how little I use my car.

Anyway, coincidentally, today I came across one that would pretty much be my perfect spec including:

2012 C2S, 29k Miles, PDK
Platinum Silver
Black Interior
20” Carrera Classic Alloys
PSE
Sports Chrono/PASM
Sun Roof
14 way memory seats
Heated seats
BOSE and Nav
Front and rear park assist
Xenons with PDLS
Cruise
Alcantara headlining

Price £62,950

What do you guys think about:

1. Buying a 5 year old 911
2. Spec and price
3. Buying non-franchise

Very very tempted but still trying to remember that this car would mean that any significant family trips would be in my wife’s little car!

There is possibly a Panamera becoming available, a 911 with four seats what not to love.

Make WingCo an offer!

Nice idea Col, but I think the Panamera may be a bit big for London city life.

Looks good Hawkeye + sure others with 911 expertise will offer some useful advice.

Rising in importance - I'd add the following quick points:

3. Good to see its got the Sports Exhaust you like.
2. If they'd accept nearer £55k for it - would be loads better!
1. I'd seriously get the wife's OK!

Good luck :)

Thanks Caster. Fortunately, my wife tends to be quite relaxed about cars. I mentioned maybe a good option would be to get her a golf GTI to replace her car so we’d have more room and remarkably she looked quite interested.

I know it doesn’t really make sense, but still tempted.

On the price point, I think the crux of any deal will likely be down to what my car might be worth.

I don't think there is any issue with buying a 5 year old car but think this is very toppish in price without a 2 year main dealer warranty. Bear in mind Porsche are happy to warrant their cars through to 125k miles so I really wouldn't be concerned about it but I would get it inspected and warranted by Porsche if possible before committing to the purchase and I would expect there to be sufficient fat in the price to pay for that

£55k is bang on the number that sprung to mind for me
