If just based on horsepower the Cayenne has to be compared with a Macan Turbo Performance Package both being 440 hp. If you spec the two cars similarly then, by my calculation, the difference is negligible.
I just compared my Turbo spec with as near as comparable S and the sums were £77,187 v £89,170 for the S. That's a bit more than negligible to my eye

That's like comparing a rocket with a rocking chair 😊

Not much in it in performance terms, as Cayenne is a bigger, heavier car. Between Macan S and Cayenne S, 0-62 is only 0.2 seconds different and top speed (pretty irrelevant) is 7mph different (157 v 164).

Macan Turbo with PP is much quicker than a Cayenne S, having the same horsepower, but in a smaller, lighter & better handling package. :ugeek:

Only reason to buy a Cayenne over a Macan is because you want a Porsche SUV and you need a bigger boot/back seat space than that offered by the Macan. :)
Space is the reason I’ve jumped from Macan to Cayenne.
0-60 in 3.9 seconds is just a disadvantage I’ll learn to live with.

Got my test drive invite through. Cars available from end of April/early May. If I time it right I may well be returning the demo and getting straight into my new car
