Just as well you've got a 991.2, Nick, rather than a 992! ;)

Well, I had TWO separate invitations from dealers 😉

Did attend and agree with Nick, not keen on the shiny black bits but a very nice screen within the dash unlike the I-pads stuck on top with some manufacturers. The SE's didn't have an exact date for receipt of their demo's but there was a young lady there taking demo drive bookings that commenced 3rd April? On reflection I think I'm sticking with facelift Macan. My wife said "it's too Big" and it wasn't meant to be a complement toward me 🤔

I was there also tonight. Much smaller turn out or bigger premises?

Greasy finger marks are purely down to the canapé effect.
No I’m not being serious, but in mitigation the outside of the cars were also covered in sticky fingerprints. So what do you do there?

I went to a preview event. In the metal, the new cayenne looks Macan-ish, but considerably bigger inside. Probably more fun/nicer in the back, than the front.

I thought the edgeless shiny screens inside looked cheap and plasticky - almost Jaguar quality. Leather and soft material quality seemed no better than in a well specified Macan either, so really it's legroom and rock mode that's costing you the extra £30-40k over the Macan.

Even the person presenting the preview was almost apologetic about the whole thing.

The best part of the evening was the nice Lambo Diablo SV parked outside.

On all three cars at the South London Cayenne launch, the screens had protective plastic screen covers and didn't look that good but once removed the screen looks fantastic!

Macan S versus Cayenne S = £20,043

Macan Turbo versus Cayenne Turbo = £35,310.

I agree that's a big jump for a slightly bigger car, with arguably less impressive driving dynamics. :geek:

Those presumably are base prices, not the actual prices you would pay once you add a reasonable level of options.

The Turbo I saw was £117k, but it did look considerably nicer than the nearby S :)

In fairness, you cannot compare a Macan S with a new Cayenne S. If just based on horsepower the Cayenne has to be compared with a Macan Turbo Performance Package both being 440 hp. If you spec the two cars similarly then, by my calculation, the difference is negligible.

Not much in it in performance terms, as Cayenne is a bigger, heavier car. Between Macan S and Cayenne S, 0-62 is only 0.2 seconds different and top speed (pretty irrelevant) is 7mph different (157 v 164).

Macan Turbo with PP is much quicker than a Cayenne S, having the same horsepower, but in a smaller, lighter & better handling package. :ugeek:

Only reason to buy a Cayenne over a Macan is because you want a Porsche SUV and you need a bigger boot/back seat space than that offered by the Macan. :)
