Reading that 4d blurb , I got the impression that you would need PASM etc etc otherwise it's 4d less a couple of dimensions! It looks like another Porsche marketing effort that they haven't managed to convert in to a three letter acronym with a P in front of it yet.

CAY2018 wrote: Fri Feb 09, 2018 10:56 am Have read that the 14 way seats have softer leather which may make up for the absence of full leather? Not sure if that is still the case for the 18 model?
Not sure about the quality of leather used in MY2018 Standard Interior on 8-way or 14-way, I would imagine it to be the same. It's only the controls + memory function that are different between the two seat options.

Full leather interior means leather on top of dashboard, the door cards, even the door pockets are lined with leather, as is the glove compartment lid. Otherwise the seats themselves are leather only on the front facing bits in both the standard and the leather interiors. (I think).

CAY2018 wrote: Fri Feb 09, 2018 9:41 am Btw OPC still telling me PASM is a waste of money. Never had (or felt the need for all leather before) so I think I will sacrifice it for the 21s (and maybe the 14 ways...). Bloody hell, this is tough.
When I was ordering my Cayenne (back in 2013), I had planned to have air suspension having got used to it on a series of Mercedes E Classes. The OPC told me that, unlike Mercedes, the air suspension and dampers are separate and that you only need air if you plan a lot of off-road use. Having been driving Porsche SUVs for nearly five years, I would not be without PASM.

If you're planning on the 8-way seats, as others have said, the driver's memory pack is essential. Even if you're the car's only driver every time you visit your OPC your car will be driven by the Incredible Hulk or one of Snow White's little helpers. You will then spend ages trying to get the seat back to how you like it. If you go for the 14-way (or 18-way) seats, you get the easy exit feature. Take the key out of the ignition and open the door and the seat moves rearward and the steering column (which is electrically adjusted with these seat options) moves to its highest position. Get back in and put the key in the ignition and everything moves back to the stored position.

A strictly personal opinion here but I ran the Cayenne for two years on 19 inch wheels (18s in winter) and it always looked great to me. I run the Macan on 20 inch Sport Design and they look better but still have a reasonable sidewall height just in case I ever misjudge where the curb is. I still have 18 inch winter wheels and while they look different, they don't look too small for the wheel arches.

Whatever you choose, someone on the forum will disagree with your choice. :D Just remember you have to live with it for however long you keep the car and there is no money back guarantee with forum opinions.

Without PASM you will be driving a car with essentially a 1960’s suspension setup.

If that is what you want then fine.

The 4D rubbish, it is just marketing hype for an integrated control system, without PASM it will be missing the main control system.

The biggest mistake people can make is ........ assuming something is going to be OK ........ research and check out thoroughly that your assumption is not in fact an assumption but a fact.

Nothing the matter with a bit of excess (aka bling).

Worked out I could have bought a GT3 for what this little lot is costing.

Still, roll on May.
