Not sure how totally OT this is but let me park it here:

Came across this Tesla S 100D review on Youtube. A (fairly) serious review but rather different from your typical car journalist's take:

Great review.

We now need to dump Matt Blancmange from Top Gear, put Robert Llewellyn in there instead ( perhaps in his Kryton outfit) and what a much better trio they would make.

What was actually biased about it? Seemed pretty genuine comments to me.

The reviewer already owns a Tesla. So he's obviously a fan boy. So yes biased.

Charging network still not good enough for my regular travels, so sticking with my lovely Petrol and Diesel fleet.

He may well be a "fan boy" but I didn't hear him say anything misleading or actually biased toward Tesla over any other EV or any other car. Whether or not the Tesla charging network fits your personal needs is kind of irrelevant really. He simply stated that it has a realistic 300 mile range, which is fine for most people in the UK.

1st time I've ever watched anything remotely related to EVs, so found it quite interesting.

Am I thinking correctly, that to do a monthly 600 miles, at 300 w/hr per mile, at say 15p per kW/hr, this car would only cost £27 pcm to run, rather than the £101 pcm I would spend on diesel? Pretty good if correct, but at £30k more than my SD, that's a 34 year payback period?

That comes down to 8 years, if doing 30k pa?

Aren’t road tests supposed to be subjective? He kept comparing that model to his own & was very disingenuous to anyone who questioned range & charge time.
Electric cars are coming whether we like them or not, but it’s only fair to compare pro’s and con’s.

.....And I loved Red Dwarf!
