Renaultsport Clio 182 & 197. both fantastic little cars...especially the 182. it's still my wallpaper on the lock screen of my PC at home (my wallpaper on the desktop is the nogaro RS4, and my iPad is the GT2-RS I was in a couple of weeks ago...).

Basically the 182 has all the benefits of the Golf GTI from above, but at the time was c. £6k cheaper to buy....

Talking of RS4s, have just watched Henry Catchpole's review of the new RS4 and he seemed mightily impressed. :geek:

He does, as do a lot of jurnos. funny how different the perception of this car is over the B8 RS4. Petrol Ped has a review up on the RS4 too...he compares it to the S4 and basically says at the end of it - if you can spend the extra on the RS, then get that...

I loved my Nogaro, gutted when I sold it. I did consider a new one, but wanted to go a different route for a while...and hopefully follow this route to it's logical conclusion (a 911...)

I don't normally get emotionally attached to cars, but I missed my 911 2.4S for quite a while after I sold it.

Agree that that is the kind of car that one would get emotionally attached to. :)

I came so close to buying one of those from Chelsea Cars back in 2001 when prices were reasonable - should definitely have done it. Lovely car.

Financially yes!! I seriously wish I had kept it for another few years at least. But I wasn't getting to drive it anywhere near enough. They are a great car, but also quite flawed in many ways. I had a love/hate relationship with the gearbox and it was pretty dubious at high speed with all the aero lift. Then there are all the oil leaks from the mag casings etc. My SC is actually a much better car to drive, like its older more sensible brother!
