I shut my thumb in a mate's car door once, just as he started to drive off. So I suppose you could say I was attached for a few seconds ...

(PS: Hurt like hell for days - lost the thumbnail a few weeks later.)

I always get attached to cars, starting with my first, a humble 1935 Morris 8 which cost £7 10/- with a year's MOT.

The only exception was my first company car, a dirty brown Vauxhall Viva which loved breaking down. It really was the biggest waste of resources I've ever encountered.

I don't really get attached to cars but l do regret letting a couple go. The first was my Triumph spitfire in the 1970's and the other was my Honda S2000 which I treated myself to for my 50th birthday in 2002

Is that a Lotus? Impressive first car indeed! :)
Ginetta 🤓
Exactly right G15 WinCo

I had to come down to earth after that and bought a Metro next
And to be truthfull it was all very boring/sensible - until recently
(with one exception of of the Westfield 7 that I made)

Yes the hair is a bit of a shock for you - don't show Mrs P ;) - I won't hear the last of it

My SC is actually a much better car to drive, like its older more sensible brother!
I think I had a 1980 SC. It was 13 years old and a bit abused but a real thrill. I neglected it and that was a shame. I wish I had kept and cherished it.

I wonder if that Ginetta inspired the feature in the middle of the bonnet of all Singer Porsches?! :geek:
