1963 Mini, all 850cc of it.

Did me proud for a couple of years when I was a low paid Apprentice Engineer.

Never really get attached to cars despite owning one for 12 years and another for 11 years.

Mind you my first Mrs had her Fiat Uno for 17 trouble free years, it was ultra reliable, zero breakdowns, low cost motoring and she loved it

It comes as somewhat of a relief to come across someone else who admits to having owned, and enjoyed, a Triumph Spitfire.

Bought mine in April ‘76 at the beginning of that incredible summer so didn’t put the hood up until the end of September. And that includes two through-the-nighters across France.

Loved and hated that little car in equal measure.

1989 porsche 3.2 25th aniversay in a sort of silver with a pinkish tinge
Remember buying it from a lovely japanese chap in london
A very strange experince went to pick the car up with wife and kids and they had to stay in the kitcken whilst we did the deal
Driving home i coudnt get the electric seat right and ended up with the back flat down must have looked daft
Then towards home i stopped for petrol and my eldest daughter jumped out of her mums car to join me in the porsche
Never forget her words daddy how are you going to get the motorbikes in the back
At the time i was always using pick up trucks as my business is bikes made me laugh 😂😂😂
Great car had some magical moments over the years i had it

Unlike some here, I am strangely attached to my Macan. Whilst I would change it if a really good deal came up, I like the one I have got. I am not sure if it is just the best car I have ever owned (by a long way), the 9 month gestation (like having a child) or the fact that it is exactly what I have chosen that has done it. I think the Porsche way of choosing every extra, although expensive, makes the car feel more exclusive and special - if you get it right. So despite it being a diesel, I have no plans to change it and will probably keep it for years. Until I don’t need the space - by which time I can hopefully afford a 911!
